I would like to start a string in which we all get drunk and discuss (using expletives and racial epithets) a metal glider parked at Hobbs, owned by the SSA but not mentioned in the Financial Statement or entered into the computer system that was last flown by Larry Sanderson the week that he moved to Hobbs.
No Irish Allowed.
(P.S. I was reviewing your most excellent flight of August 10 on 3D Tracer and you flew the task in the opposite direction.)

Is there any truth to the rumor that Larry once threatened to kill an innocent 1-26, never gets above release height, refers to all Germans as fermented cabbage, hates plastic gliders and generally prefers machine tools??
No? Oh wait, disregard, that was someone else wasn't it? . . . I get so confused, but there's gotta be some entertainment value here somewhere (g). That is, unless the SSA really *does* try to raise my dues 20 bucks!

That's funny. I had an early instructor that made us do that. He never did say why. I learned a lot from him and hope he is still soaring out there. He just had one of those quirky personalities that I was attracted to. ALL flying is fun, even circling in sink.
Hank (the 'best glider' thread has been tremendous for me!)

It isn't fun (and should not be legal) to drink and make slurs without an Irishman (or a descendent). Or are you just afraid we'll start a fight??

Fact #1: It is only through the grace of God herself that my plane has survived.
Fact #2: It is no longer possible for that person to send me email.
Fact #3: By noon tomorrow, it will no longer be possible for people outside of my family to phone me.
Fact #4: My plane and my torch are now less than the length of my hoses apart.
Really think you're being smart?

Lennie, in your posting of 3-28 under the heading RE: AN IMPRTANT MESSAGE TO THE GROUP your stated it would be 'My final post, my last contact with the aviation mob.' Why don't you do this group a favor and keep your word by just going away.

Hey! This is MY stupid string. I have Lennie filtered out. This is supposed to be funny, self-mocking and light hearted. If I wanted a string dealing with drab depression, I would go over to the NASCAR, NBA or baseball sites.

I've been lurking here for about a month or so. I've posted once (as far as I can remember) asking about places to get glider instruction and gotten some decent replies from decent people and even more helpful replies from some locals here by email. Thanks guys, you know who you are.
Why do I lurk? Because I don't know the first damn thing about soaring and want to at least have a working knowledge of the subject and the people in the group before I really do ask any questions. The questions I have now, if I read enough, get answered sooner or later in ongoing and past threads. When I know enough to ask some intelligent questions, I will.
OTOH, there's Lennie. Poor Lennie. Everything in his life has been someone else's fault, mostly Reagan and the rest of the Republicans and the Tri-Lateral Commission. You name it, it's their fault. The twist that it's the German's fault is a new one to me though. Kind of makes me feel satisfied since I'm of German descent. Whoever his shop foreman is, he has my respect.
I know most of you guys don't hang out in the homebuilt group but I've been there for many years. Lennie has been a PITA there and threatened to leave so many times nobody even listens anymore. He won't leave. He's so damn sure he's right about everything he just can't resist coming back and straightening us all out, whichever group it may be.
Ever notice how the folks that are so sure they have the way, and only way, of doing things are generally the ones that end up in accidents of some kind? I'm not surprised that Lennie can't even fly on his own, and has no rating. Maybe he did once, but for whatever reason can't fly now. And of course, it's the assholes at the field that are at fault. They just won't see things his way so he picked up his toys and left. I'm sure they shed a single solitary tear when he left too.
Sorry for the rant and OT post. I'll go back to reading and learning now. Just wanted to let you know that RASoaring isn't the only group with Lennie for company.
