I am trying this list as the UK lists don't seem to be working.

Has anyone got a glider for sale in the UK? Glass is preferred but any considered. Must be in good condition, avalable now, with a CofA and suitable for a Silver C + 150 hours pilot operating from a smallish, roughish airfield. Will travel for the right glider.

Gerry

There are several K6E's around at the moment. I know of two in East Anglia at the moment, on is on www.gldierpilot.net (which is FUBAR ATM as you know) and the other is at Norfolk. Give me a shout if you are interested in the NGC one and I'll try and get you in touch with the man selling it.

Cheers

The last edition of S&G had several of the types you mentioned- at the moment prices for UK gliders (and those in Europe) are the lowest I have ever seen them,- dg200 for 9k, Vega17 for 10k ect., The market sems vey depressed at the moment- there are many bargins to be had, although there are still those who don't seem to realise it and are asking over the odds. If you want performance and don't mind the rigging you could even pick up a LAK-12 for 10K. Don't expect to get more than 2-3 grand for your K6CR though, if you haven't sold it - the market for old wood seems to have totally collapsed. US pilots there are bargins to be had in Europe- if you don't want the latest and greatest!

: The one thing I learned from searching for my (first) glider is 'go & see : for yourself' .

I have a friend who's just bought a nice K6E. He went to see ten or fifteen gliders before he found it - some of the things he was offered were appallingly scruffy and others had serious accident history. None of this mentioned in the sellers' blurbs.

Yes but not 50:1 - 48:1 IIRC. I did consider the LAK 12 but found a good Kestrel and decided to go for that. George Emsden Moderator - Kestrel Newsgroup on Yahoo <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kestrel401>

Even at that rate, gliding in Minden is much more expensive than in the french Alps.
