Hi,
I sell and support Chip Garner's Glide Navigator II software. Today I received an e-mail from a customer who is using Glide Navigator II on a Compaq 1550 with his CAI GPS-NAV. He's heading to Tonopah for a contest soon so he downloaded the CAI turnpoint file 'tn_02_nm.dat' from John Leibacher's fantastic, amazing, wonderful, fabulous turnpoint data site. Unfortunately the file would not open properly in Glide Navigator II. I looked at the file and found some extra characters after some of the airport elevations. Instead of an 'F' I found 'FTF'. I did a search for all the 'FTF's in the file and replaced them with 'F's. I sent it to the customer and he said that the new file worked great.
I sent an e-mail to John Leibacher and I'm sure he'll fix the file very soon. But I wanted to make everyone aware that the file has some minor issues.
Good Soaring,

Last night I found out about the problem with the Aero 1550 displaying about 8 of the turnpoints from the Tonopah turnpoint list. I e-mailed Paul this morning informing him of the problem. He found the problem and e-mailed me a corrected turnpoint file within a couple of hours. Then this evening Chip e-mails me from the Texas Std Nationals with an explanation on how his program will work with my not latest versions of CAI gps nav and L-nav combination.
So far I'm quite impressed with the service associated with Glide Navigator II
Note: I also had the problem viewing the waypoints with the CAI pocket nav program on my 1550. So try to give everyone going to Tonopah and using a PDA a heads up on this issue.
