I took advantage of the offer made by Doug Jacobs and Seminole to fly with DJ in the DG505 on a contest day. It was an incredible experience, more so because DJ 'thought out loud' as he planned the day, prepared to launch, and flew the task. It would take many pages to describe the experience, but you would have to be brain-dead not to be thrilled by it.
My thanks to DJ who, I'm sure, paid a price in concentration and, as a result race position, by doing it and to the folks at Seminole for making the DG available. The lucky dog who's getting to spend a whole contest doing this with KS must think he's died and gone to heaven. If such a prize is ever offered again in a team sweepstakes, I'm going to buy LOTS of tickets. It's a powerful way to learn.
Again, thanks,
Raphael Warshaw

Ray The pleasure was all mine! Ray forgot to mention that we landed out that day - at an airport Ray suggested, which turned out to be privately owned, with six or seven beautiful homes around a pristine, grass lined concrete runway lined with split rail fences. Even better, as I was calling Seminole for a tow, and anticipating a long wait since all but 3 landed out that day, one of the contest tow planes replied that he was on final to relaunch a previous outlander and would be back for us directly. Total time on terra firma? - 14 minutes. Ray, they're not all like that one, believe me!
