SZD 50-3

The manual which we have for our 'Pooch' is dated MAY 1994. Does anyone know if a more recent version of that manual exists and is available? I am trying to figure out if there have been revisions, in particular as they apply to the replacement of control cables.

For as far as I know, there are no revisions or newer versions of the service manual. So still no remarks on the cables... If I'm not mistaken, the 51-1 Junior service manual prescribes replacement after 1000 hours of flight. So, after 1200 hours we felt the time was right to replace our Puchacz' rudder cables last winter, although the (visible) state of the cables didn't urge it. It was a nice job to keep us off the street for another day though... (and much more fun than replacing the main bulkhead)

Don't know about manual update but I recall in the UK there was an AD to replace any hemp cored control cables with modern ones. I believe that our oldest Puchacz had these cables.

Thank you Erwin, I appreciate the information. I was in Holland two weeks ago, not soaring weather! I am in California where the temp is approx. 24 C. I am going to the field tomorrow and see if the thermals are working !
