Slightly off-topic, but had the most amazing snow flight last spring. 8-10kts up in a cloud street (more like a super-highway) when - BAM - somebody turned out the lights. Heavy snow squall with pretty marginal visibility. The eeriest part was the millions of micro-turbulators causing a low frequency rumble (see JJ's 'CLUNK'

. That sound was a real attention getter 'til the old cranium figured out the problem. Anyway, the strongest lift created a tunnel with thick snow trailing down either side. A truly memorable few minutes. I wonder if snow is associated with very strong lift by definition?
