Share your IGC files

I have put up on www.classicglider.info a new service where you can share your IGC files with buddies and other pilots from around the world.

On the home page click the login link and make yourself a user account.

After creating an account you can login to the user menu.

Select upload IGC files (yes you will be able to show JPG files on there soon as well) The rest is pretty self explanatory.

This system is in its early stages I am upgrading currently to make it all work etc.

User comments are appreciated if you find errors or would like to suggest a feature.

Hi, Al. There is already a similar 'service' online, the On Line Contest at www.segelflug.de Great idea. I'll drop by your website and take a look also, the best way to learn is to watch other's mistakes! Season is coming and my new ASW-24W is due to arrive in a couple of weeks!!!

OLC flight claims can be a real pain to file I have found, plus you cant search OLC for specific flights. Thats the reason I put this site up for people to easily share their flights.

Something similar was also started last year in France. Only flight registration, no IGC files (most pilots dont' have IGC loggers). There was somes rewards for the best in some categories, provided the winner in each one gives a proof (IGC file or photos) of his flight(s). Started again this year with some improvements: you can register the waypoints and add a comment about the flight, as well a have a look on the flights and comment of other pilots.

Last year was a real success:

This site is to share IGC files with buddies etc. Its easier to post up on the site than email large files around the internet to multiple people. I will be finishing the search page in the next day or so. When this is done you will be able to search by name, country comments glider, class etc etc..

Furthermore its worldwide not just Benelux and I am not trying to recreate an OLC!!

I tried to put a couple of my flights on there recently but I wasn't able to because they were more than a week old.

Perhaps that's appropriate for whatever the site organizers are trying to acheive, but it made it useless for me.

Hell you can post great flights from years ago.. just add the dates to the comments field about the flight and the new system will take care of it.

Now, what would be *really* cool is if you had the software that makes those nice 3-D plots hooked up to the system.

Ability to edit information aboput already uploaded flights would also be good.

use www.seeyou.ws software. set it to be your prefered IGC viewer. set it to 3D view default and its all a double click away .
