The APIS Glider can be built as an ultralight glider, pure sailplane or self launch . . . looks nice, good performance. Robert Mudd of Ohio is the importer. See www.apisgliders.com

The FAI ultralight category glider definition is quite different from FAA Part 103 ultralight definition.

PW-2d Gapa also fits this category too. but i don't think it holds any records now.

The Sparrowhawk fits this category And has applied for a new world record. http://www.windward-performance.com/

You can see many pictures of the Apis gliders along with specifications by visiting the Apis Sailplanes inc. web site at www.apisgliders.com

The Apis does indeed hold several world records in the FAI's ultralight category. Record flights continue to be attempted.

There are 4 kits in the US and one ready to fly. Two of the kits are nearing completion; they are at the 90% done, 90% to go stage.

Altough its look reminds strongly the Genesis, its design, according to what is said in the above URL, is less extreme, i.e. instead of using a stable airfoil for the wing, they use an airfoil with moderate unstability allowing stabilisation with a tailplane having a shorter lever arm, i.e. shorter fuselage than usual, while on the Genesis the tailplane has no stabilizing function.
