Hello,

I have been practicing the online FAA pactice exsam at the Knauff & Grove web-site. And find these exam questions to be very helpful source. The more I read in the books I have bought, the better I do on the practice exam.

My question is though , are these exam questions the same as given on the FFA exam and accurate? or are they just the type of qustions you can expect in general, without being the same question given on the practice exam?

They are word for word the same Carl, you'll be pleasantly surprised how many are committed to memory when you take the test. But still, be careful and make sure you check the right answer, don't just blast through them.

Carl, You would probably be better off asking Knauff & Grove directly through the contacts on the website. The ASA, Gleim, and other test prep books and software have the actual questions and answers obtained from the F.A.A. To my understanding, the only thing the F.A.A. doesn't release is the info telling which one of the three answers is correct. ASA & Gleim have release what they think is the best correct answer. K & G, probably have the actual questions, but I can't say for sure. While it is good to use this testing site to practice, I highly recommend you buy an ASA or Gleim test prep. book. Study the sections so that you are not just perparing for the test, but rather, learning the material and using the quesion/answers to ensure you thoroughly understand. That's the whole intent of the knowledge (written) test. Good Luck! Joe Allbritten

Thanks,

I do take the online exam now and than. but mostly to see if my understanding of the material I have been reading has sunk in. I have seen an increase in my exam scores.

The material I have been using in my flight training are:

(1) Glider Basics From First Flight To Solo. (2) SSA Soaring Flight Manual. (3) After Solo.

Which have been the materials my CFI-G have asked me to train from. I am only on my third training flight so far, but most of the exam material giving me a problem so far are the, some weather related items, allot of the weather abbreviation details, aviation chart information. Are there any good URL's out there about how to read aviation charts? I have been only able to find one at: http://www.usppa.org/Resources/reading_charts.htm

Hi Carl, and thanks for the plugs. In the back pages of 'Glider Basics' and 'After Solo' is a bibliography of suggested texts you should have in you library to become a safe pilot.

Also, we produced a CD Rom describing 'Airspace for Glider Pilots' you will find very useful.
