Gloria, I read some of your older posts, and noticed you had commented about military use of RC aircraft. You should see some of the stuff that is actually in use now.

No, I don't have a link to any sources for any of the R/C stuff I see flying over here. If I took pictures and posted them, they would probably kill me, or at the very least, put me in jail!( . I've asked a few people what they do, and get the "Clasified" response, with the attitude that if they told me, they'd have to kill me . Most of the people here aren't in that category fortunately .

Hi GliderMike,

I thought very naively that there is some info out there for interested civilian.
It sounds really interesting, don't want to send you to jail though.

I'm sure one day part of the info would be less secretive so some pr department would make some display but it might take 40 years

I Googled unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned aerial systems (systems seems to be what they are calling themselves nowadays), and came up with some stuff. The Predator has been around for a while. I recall mention of it in Hang Gliding magazine. The Boeing ScanEagle is relatively new. I have seen stuff that could be similar to both. The aircraft that bears some resemblance to the ScanEagle is as pretty as any rigid (Swift or ATOS, either one) I have seen, and almost as quiet. I have heard thru the grapevine there is some other stuff over here also, but I haven't seen it that I know of. I can probably say this much without getting into trouble. I haven't met but one HG pilot since I've been over here, but I would bet there are a few more. Talked to one sailplane pilot, and I would bet there are more of them over here also. I've also talked to some pilots, who think anything less than two engines running constitutes an emergency!
