Where can MD2 oxygen regulators be found.

The best lead I have is that some surplus dealers around Davis-Monathon AFB in Arizona may have them.
Be aware that MD-2 designates a US Navy regulator. The US Air Force designation for the same regulator is CRU-72/A and CRU-73/A. Both use 0 - 2000 PSI compressed oxygen.
There are several other 'narrow panel regulators' that look almost the same but they use 0 - 400 PSI from liquid oxygen systems. Look carefully at the pressure gauge to make sure.
If you find a source, let me know - I want a pair.

There are some BuAero regulators which are hi-pressure (0-2000) psi) which might be suitable. They are for sale on ebay from time to time. They are fairly compact with integral pressure guage, blinker, and controls all in one unit and seem to go inexpensively....of course overhaul would be a problem.
BuAer U. S. Navy Regulator Automatic Positive Demand, Parts # 2867-A1B, stock # R83-PR-2867-A1B by Bendix Aviation Corp. These were the replacement regulator for the airforce's A-12A and A-14 as jets were becoming of age and need better regulators. They were used on F9F, F-8, AD, A-4, and early F-4 in Vietnam. It was standard on many naval aircraft during the 1950's and 60's. They were developed to supply oxygen to the MS22001 Oxygen mask and later worked with the MBU-3/P and MBU-5/P masks. They have a built in blinker and pressure gage indicator.

I have one of these with current yellow tags. It is a good regulator - much better than the A-14's since it is not as susceptible to deterioration of elastomer parts. I have used this one for several high wave flights and it performs superbly.
Unfortunately it is a large, heavy panel mounted regulator - almost 6' round. It's hard to find panel space for it. Installing a pair of them in a 2- seater eats into the payload.
