I am experiencing a wing drop on our l-33. It seems to happen as I'm approaching TO speed, just as I nose over to get the tail off the ground. It's happened twice and pretty abruptly. Anyone else ever have the same experience. The instructor thinks it's me and it probably is but it seems to drop so fast.

Shumaker, welcome to the forum Don't be mad at me but... I also think it probably is you. The sudden drop usually is representative for the human cause failure...

I have a number of flights in L-33, and haven't had this problem, even with slight tailwinds... it might be your wingrunner's fault, too. If she/he gives a 'helpful' flip to 'keep the wing up', you have no control authority to stop it, and down the other one goes. You might try keeping it up with rudder, keeping directional control of course (early in the roll, keeping the tail planted with stick helps). Also, if you use all aileron, it tends to deepen the stall at the control surface. Try using only a little, and the wing will slowly come up.

Also, never underestimate the power of prayer; it comes in handy later in your career when you are conversing with a higher power, promising to attend church, if only he/she will give you one more climb so that you can make it back!
