high end ground antenna from a few years ago?

When I was flying gliders actively back in
the 70's and 80's we all used an antenna on the ground to help cover the long ranges we saw out west in the U.S.
I believe it may have been a 5/8 wave colinear..it was maybe 6.5' tall, had a 1" aluminum tube running from the base to about 1/2 way up the length. I worked quite well. anyone remember that design? is it still around for sale somewhere? I have one i'd like to donate to an air museum for their scanner.
Cheers,

Wings and Wheels has a number of antennas on p14; several sound similar to what you're looking for.

Thanks for the hint on the Wings and Wheels site but the antenna i'm trying to identify isn't in the catalog.
I think we bought it from Ghram Thompson Soaring. He sold the Bayside radios and parachutes and stuff. I am not active in soaring and was blown away with that,at that new HpH 304S Shark, jet launched sailplane...wow! I want one! I guess it's the old Glasflugel line maybe.

Thanks again,
Jon
