Thank you for contacting GARMIN. I took the liberty of email'g Garmin directly, for their recommendation on a handheld for Soaring, and this is the response that I received. You have reached the right person. I have been flying hang gliders for 23yrs. The two best models for hang gliding are the Vista and the 76S. It is not complete yet but we are also working on new software for the Vista and the 76S that will be specifically for light aircraft soaring. I can't say what those changes will be till it is complete but it is great. I would personally recommend the 76S. We refer to the 76S as the Vista on steroids. Happy soaring!

I lost my vista and bought a 76S
Of course I found it the day the 76S came at the door.
Anybody wanna buy my Vista? It would be cheeper than a 76S
