Does any one know or have opinion on what is the fastest Variometer? I know that gust filters and compensation equipment can slow them down, but what else is going on as far as speed is concerned. I need instant feed-back for some dynamic soaring experiments, so gust filtering may not be important. There is alot of talent in this group just looking for direction. Mike

www.sagevariometers.com

take out the inline restrictor and you have a vario faster then you can follow.

there is also a very good article on them on the site.

Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation. Read: http://www.eglider.org/download/Brozel%20TE% 20Compensation%2020020510... Best Regards, Dave

signals via inputs from the front and shown on the display. Suggest you download their manual to investigate. Good Luck UH

Most electronic varios have the ability to provide output faster than you can use. As you make the vario faster it will gradually become a horizontal gust detector. This may be what you want. Alternatively you may want a a special device such as a 'vario' that consists of a differential transducer connected to a differentiator which will just show you energy changes due to the horizontal air velocity changes. This, appropriately filtered may help with dynamic soaring experiments.

A new invention here on r.a.s.!
