DVD recorder 12 v dc portable

We are looking for a portable video camera, 12 volt DC with DVD recording. We have a system now inside the aircraft (glider) which has two cameras, one faces forward showing where we are going, and the other camera faces rearward showing the two passengers sitting there. The two people sitting there are shown in the lower right hand corner of the screen in a small box kind of like picture in picture which some TV sets have. This all records to a VCR tape now but we want DVD.

We want to install new systems in the gliders but with DVD this time, and it would be nice if they were removable so we can take them out of the aircraft at night.

Anyone have any leads on systems like this or on people who are capable of putting together a system like this please let me know.

Phillips DVD recorder and an inverter is probably your best bet. DVD recording is fairly new, prices are still high, you're in the early adopters end of the market. Even DVD burners for desktops are still high end of the market.

Don't worry about taking them out at night, someone will always manage to do that for you.
