Hi,

In wave flight in Chos Malal (Patagonia Argentina) is very easy to climb up to 8000 m (26000 ft) or 10000 m (32800 ft). Generally the glider doesnt use water, but I read a Jim Payne Soaring article (Jun. 96) where it is said that he used water. He didnt said about if it was pure water or water with methanol or something like that.

What is your experience about use water in high altitude flight?

Just to mention: Maneuvering Speed (Va) is based on max gross weight. Va decreases with lighter weights (not heavier). The 'a' stands for acceleration.

Again, the concern is TAS.
