The rubber tailwheel assembly on me 13 year old Discus is pretty well deteriorated. I'm ready to stick on the replacement. What say the group with regard to suggested adhesive and technique?

You probably know that roller-blade wheels are really tough. They do much better that the 'nylon-plastic' wheels from the factory.

Adhesion point on the tail boom must be absolutely clean (no bits and chunks left over from the last one).

Put fuselage in trailer with replacement assembly in tailwheel recess. Mark fore and aft point on tailboom. Measure it twice.

Rubber cement. Follow instructions.

Get it straight. Fuselage upside down so that you can sight up the fuselage

Let it set at least overnight.

Tape edges of replacement assembly with a nice cloth tape.

Get an experienced glider repairman to do the above if at all possible (that's what I did)

Note that glider doesn't roll perfectly straight...

Make sure next glider has pneumatic tailwheel...
