On a 3 year old Cobra, how does one remove the wheel bearing cap? It does not appear to pry off as in most American cars. This is an Alko axle.

Every Georgia good ol' boy knows the answer to that one.... bigger hammer and a cutting torch...

I am surprised you didn't know that!

Simply pull it off. Not threaded. Bearings are sealed...unlike US taper bearings.

Use a big Channel lock type pliers and grab it so the jaws are aligned with the axle, and rock it off. It will not give up easily. It is tightly press fit in. The bearing is a sealed unit -a double row sealed ball bearing similar to the front wheel bearing on a small front wheel drive car, and requires a big bearing press to remove. It is held on by a large flanged nut, about 1 1/4' or so, and torqued down solidly. bring your muscles or a long wrench.
