unit been received out there? Any major technical problems? Particularly interested in the vario performance. Does it truly provide the 'real time' info the ads claim, or is it just twitchy? Can the average pilot process the info fast enough to react meaningfully to a 'super-fast' vario in any event? Thanks RON

its a great instrument .. I love flying with mine.

I would loose the pocketnav though and get Winpilot advanced with it.

I agree with Al. Get Winpilot.

I had my first wave flight last weekend since the new track display was added to Winpilot which shows lift with the track. It made staying in the strongest lift very easy. Of course, you still have to find the lift first

You can also use the track feature on a Compaq using Cambridge software. Don't forget, you also need to look outside, and the more you have to play with in the cockpit the less time you will spend watching out for other traffic.

The CAI software only shows a mono track. The Winpilot software now shows lift dots changing the track color when you hit lift the larger the dot the strongerthe lift.

looking outside the canopy... not sure if that will catch on

The IPAQ's also run a great backgammon game which is much better than the old games from the E11 I used to use Backgammon makes final glides much more enjoyable

That's you that have time to play a whole game on a final glide!!! We mortals have no time to play... have to find thermals to get closer to the field... By the time we can start our final glide we are close enough to prevent us from ending a game...

Backgammom! Sounds really cool, where can I get my copy. While my students are tooling around, I can sit in back and play some 'gammon.

The new plane is really super. Some great flights recently, but good stuff is still to come when we head for southern France at the beginning of July.

Thanks for the site, I'll check it out.
