Richard,

This looks like a fabulous tool! Thank you for creating it! I can't wait to try it.

As you mentioned, John Leibacher's site is very nice. He's always been very willing to create databases for me around my local airport, but with your routine, I won't need to bug him.

One suggestion. I hate to mention it since you've done such a great volunteer effort. Could create a version of the program that saves the data in the waypoint format that Glide Navigator II and WinPilot can read. They use the same, simple text file format. I'm biased, because I sell and support Glide Navigator II.

Thanks,

Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring Supplies http://www.cumulus-soaring.com

I have written a Web Agent that interrogates the AirNav.com database to get a list of all the public/private/military airports & gliderports within a specified range of a specified airport as well as a bunch of information for each airport. The results are stored in a file that is easily ready by excel. Check it out at: http://www.gtwn.net/~flf/AirNavLookup/AirNavLookup.html

For those that are unfamiliar with AirNav.com they are an online database that has access to all the airports in the Airport Facilities directory.

Hi Richard,

The link to the 'download.zip' doesn't seem to work for me. I'm looking forward to trying it.

Thanks,

Paul Remde

The filename that worked is 'Download.zip'.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the offer, but I can handle the reformatting very easily in Excel. I just asked because it would be very valuable to many glider pilots besides myself.

Thanks for the wonderful resource. I worked very well for me!

If I come up with an Excel solution that could be used by others, I'll make it available on my web site.

Good Soaring,

Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring Supplies http://www.cumulus-soaring.com

Fixed the Web page. I tested this on a PC server (case insensitive) but deployed on our club's Linux Web server (case sensitive). I wanted to stay away from formatting because of the issues of selecting the appropriate name and/or turnpoint numbers. If no one else answers, send me a copy of a file and I can probably put something together pretty quick. I handle various other formats for our club members.

r.t.s.
