I'm looking for airfoil data (coordinates, technical papers, etc) on some of the newer airfoils used on high-performance racing sailplanes such as the ASW-26,27,28 or even the eta Project, that were designed and tested at Delft. This would include the DU series of airfoils or similar. There isn't much at the UIUC database and I haven't been terribly successful elsewhere. I've got a CFD project I'd like to try out. Does anyone know where info like this could be found or is most of it kept proprietary? Also, info or papers on inverse airfoil design for sailplanes would be interesting.

Thanks,

You could try contact the designer, mr. Boermans. Go to the website of the Faculty of aerospace engineering of Delft university of technologly: www.delftaerospace.com, or directly to the aerodynamics research group: www.hsa.lr.tudelft.nl/. There you should find his email adress.

Hi Jason,

at first the airfoils of eta are not designed by TU Delft, they are made by Class-Hinrik Rohardt at the DLR Braunschweig: HQR 1-5 (Horstmann-Quast-Rohardt). The second is: they are not public and I would believe the airfoils of the AS-types are not public too.

Bye, Steffen
