Greetings, I know this subject has been discussed here, but I can't find it. Where to buy 50mm ball for receiver hitch. Who carries them?

I know 17/8' will work fine. Just would like to have proper part for hitch. After I see the price of 50mm ball, will probably just buy the 17/8' ;o)

Please don't use 1 7/8' it is not safe. A 50mm hitch can easily pop off a 1 7/8'' ball. We carry 50mm balls but they are expensive, I am quite sure Tim Mara has a better source. Your other option is to replace the hitch with a 2' coupler, we carry these.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy the correct 2' coupling and be done with it? That way you don't have to worry about anyone else towing your trailer for retrieves, etc, and not having a metric ball. The same company, ALKO, makes a 2' coupling.

If you're mechanically challenged, it may take as long as 5 minutes to make the switch.

Does that ball fit into a standard US receiver or it is a special bolt-on mount? Can't tell from the pic.

These are standard in Australia. We can buy them anywhere and they are not expensive. Send me email if you get desparate and I'll arrange something.

I am looking for a 50mm ball that will fit into a U.S. standard hitch receiver for use with the AL-KO stabiliser hitch. The only other way to do it now is to weld a 50mm ball with stud & nut to a U.S. hitch coupler. Maybe someday Al-KO will make the stabiliser hitch for a 2inch ball but they don't now.
