Anyone know when the 2002 Rules are going to be posted? The SSA site still has the 2001 rules up.

Any rule changes in the Sporting Code for Gliding take effect annually on 1 October.

They will be posted on http://www.fai.org/gliding earlier than this, so that people can see the exact wording that will apply from 1 October 2002.

As has been discussed elsewhere in this newsgroup, one change that IGC agreed at their meeting earlier this month was that the earth model for distance measurement will change from the sphere to the WGS84 ellipsoid.

I think the original message was referring to the SSA race rule for US, not the IGC stuff.

So when will it be out?

Yes you are correct....I apologize that I did not explain that on my first post. So does anyone know when the 2002 SSA rules will be posted? We are having our local contest day of the season tomorrow and usually model our rules per the SSA's but haven't seen anything other than the SRA minutes indicating a change.
